Google launches new Nexus 7 tablet along with Android v4.3

We have been waiting for the Breakfast with Sundar Pichai ever since Google first announced it. This time we got to see just what we expected – the new version of Android and the new Nexus 7 tablet.

Finally Google has announced the much awaited Nexus 7 tablet this time with a high resolution display. The 7 inch tablet is thinner, narrower and lighter than the earlier version. The refreshed version of the tablet is said to perform 80 percent faster than the original with nearly 4x graphics performance.

The new Nexus 7 has a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution which results in 323 pixels per inch as against the earlier 216. The tablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The device has two cameras – the usual 1.2 MP front facing camera and a new 5 MP rear facing camera

The Nexus 7 would be the first device to run on the newly launched update of the Android Jelly Bean OS. The Android v4.3 would feature Bluetooth 4.0 LE, OpenGL ES 3.0, Dial pad Autocomplete besides increased battery life. The 16 GB Nexus 7 is priced at $229.99 whereas the $32 GB model is priced at $269.99.
