HCL announces new ME U1 and MyEdu Android 4.0 tablets in India

Today HCL has introduced two new tablets in the Indian market and both of them run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The best part about the tablets is that they come under affordable range and cost around the Rs. 10,000 price segment.


Both the tablets, ME U1 and MyEdu, will share the same hardware but the MyEdu tablet will have various educational softwares, apps and other material as it is targeted for educational purposes.

The tablet will feature a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 7-inch capacitive display (800×480 pixels), 4GB of internal memory, a front facing camera, Wi-Fi, a USB port and a mini USB port, a micro SD card slot, a 3600 mAh battery and supports 3G dongles.

The ME U1 version will be priced at Rs. 7,999 and will come with free content worth Rs. 3,000 courtesy Hungama (free unlimited downloads for three months), Cleartrip.com (Discounts on Air Tickets), and Think Free Office. Some of the pre loaded applications including 3D Digital Weather Clock, Cleartrip, ME Apps, HCL Touch, Hungama, ibibo Ibrowser, LinkedIn, Moneycontrol, Ninja Run, Twitter, Naukri among others.

MyEduTab range aims at personalized learning will enable students, teachers & parents to connect, collaborate and share information as well as content over the Cloud. The MyEdu will cost at Rs. 9,999 and a special K12 version ,which will have educational content as well as content from NCERT books, will cost at Rs. 11,499.
