HTC announces the J Butterfly for Japan with 5-inch 1080p Display, Quad-core Processor

Remember the 5-inch phablet with 1080p display from HTC which has leaked quite a few times and was expected to arrive as the HTC DIx?


Well, HTC has today made the device official and announced it in Japan as the HTC J Butterfly and as we had expected, the device arrives with a 5-inch 1080p displayThe HTC J Butterfly is now the first production smartphone with a 1080p display and a pixel density of whooping 440PPI and is powered by a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM.
The HTC J Butterfly packs in the following features:
  • 5-inch Super LCD 3 capacitive screen
  • Display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 16 GB internal storage
  • Expandable to 32 GB via microSD slot
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
  • 8 MP rear facing camera
  • 2.1 MP front facing camera
  • 2020 mAh battery

In Japan, the J Butterfly will arrive in 3 colours: Red, White and Black and HTC is expected to launch it in the coming months. There is a possibility that the 5-inch phablet may arrive with a different name in the international market but there is still no information on that yet.
