HTC Desire 12 specs revealed through a leaked retail box

As far as we can remember, the last smartphone that Taiwan-based HTC launched in its Desire series was the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle along with the Desire 10 Pro. This was back in September 2016. Well now, after more than a year, it looks like HTC is going to launch a new smartphone in its Desire series that will be called HTC Desire 12. And, thanks to a leaked retail box, we now know what kind of hardware it will come packed with.

The folks over at Android Authority were able to get hold of a retail box of the HTC Desire 12 which revealed the phone’s specifications. According to this leaked retail box, the HTC Desire 12 will be powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor that would be paired with 3 GB RAM.

The Desire 12 will also come with a 5.5-inch display that will have a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Well, this means the phone will flaunt smaller bezels. That said, the Desire 12 will feature a 12 MP camera at the back and have a 5 MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

Furthermore, the leaked retail box also reveals support for dual nano SIM, 32 GB of internal storage, and, external storage expandable up to 2 Terabytes via microSD card. Oh, and not to forget the 2730 mAh battery that would keep the entire package up and running.

Well, these specifications of the Desire 12 revealed through the leaked retail box are in-line with the specifications that were leaked by Evan Blass earlier this month. However, the information that came from Blass hinted at 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage combination. Hence, it’s safe to assume that the Desire 12 will come with at least two different memory configurations – 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage, and, 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage.

For now, that’s all we know about the HTC Desire 12. And, as usual, there’s no word from HTC about the existence of Desire 12, however, now that information pertaining to this entry-level smartphones has started surfacing online, we might soon get to see a leaked render or live image of the Desire 12 which would reveal its design as well.
