Huawei has decided to showcase a lot at the MWC 2014, including a new smartband and two new MediaPad tablets.

The Huawei MediaPad X1 is a 7 inch tablet which the company claims to be lightest and narrowest. With a 103.9 mm width, which is lesser than even the new Nexus 7, the display with resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, occupies nearly 80 percent of the front.

The other tablet, the Huawei MediaPad M1 has slightly lower specs but a bigger 8 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. Interestingly, the device looks strikingly similar to the HTC One complete with even the dual front facing speakers on either sides of the display.

Both the Huawei MediaPad X1 and the MediaPad M1 have an aluminium chassis, thus making the tablets very light. Both the devices are powered by Huawei’s own quad core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. The devices have the LTE Cat4 connectivity, which can offer speeds up to 150 Mbps. The tablets also have voice dialling and SMS messaging apps pre-loaded.

Huawei also unveiled its first smartwatch, the Huawei TalkBand B1. The device has a very small 1.4 inch bendable OLED display. The smartband is compatible with all smartphones running Android v2.3 and higher and iOS 5.0 and higher. The band is preloaded with fitness tracking functions and a pop-out earpiece for voice calls. The device has a 90 mAh battery, which is said to last for six days.

Speaking about the new additions to the MediaPad series, Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said, “We’re excited to unveil our new 4G LTE-enabled MediaPads which, together with HUAWEI TalkBand B1, deliver the essential pillars of happiness – health, connection to family, contact with friends and access to work – without boundaries. Huawei’s culture of innovation places us in prime position to develop devices that bring people the benefits and joy of technology through 4G LTE connectivity.”
