iPad 3 may arrive in next 3-4 months

And the iPad 3 rumours are out again. If sources of Digitimes are to be believed, then the next-gen iPad 3 will be out in the next 3-4 months. This is being said because supply chains are reported to have started delivering the parts and components that will go into the making of the iPad 3.

ipad-3-launch The OEM production of the now selling iPad 2 is said to remain around 14-15 million units till the end of 2011 but, it will eventually decline to about 4.5 million units with the advent of 2012 as the concentration will shift over to the iPad 3. The production of the new iPad is said to reach a little less than 10 million units in Q1 2012 according to the sources. On the other hand Foxconn is said to begin the production of the iPad 3 in January and increase the production volume by February 2012.

According to the same sources, the total number of units of iPad 2 will reach 40 million units at the end of 2011.
