JioHotstar arrives in UK, Canada, and Singapore with new subscription plans

Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Google

JioHotstar has officially expanded internationally, launching its streaming service across the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore. The launch brings more than 160,000 hours of programming across 12 languages to the three markets, targeting the South Asian diaspora as well as international audiences interested in South Asian content. The platform plans to add more than 30,000 hours of new programming every year.

Content Slate & Regional Programming

The international catalogue includes feature films, original series, reality shows, television network content, and regional programming.

The lineup includes new titles such as Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot, Prince of Mollywood, Part Timers, and The Court, along with movie releases including Dhurandhar, Kill, 12th Fail, and Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh.

The Bigg Boss reality franchise will also offer live audience voting across its regional editions in all three markets. A 24×7 live feed will be available in the UK and Canada, while Canadian viewers will get access to Bigg Boss Hindi seven days before its linear broadcast.

Canadian and Singaporean viewers will also get access to India Ka Top 1 Percent, a quiz show hosted by Anil Kapoor. Content from JioStar networks, including Star Plus, Colors, Star Vijay, Asianet, Star Jalsha, and Star Pravah, will be available before television broadcast in Singapore and Canada, while UK viewers will be able to stream the content simultaneously with linear broadcasts.

Subscription Pricing & Account Migration

JioHotstar has updated its subscription structure for the international launch, adding quarterly plans alongside existing annual options. Existing Hotstar subscribers in the three launch markets can move to the new service using their current login credentials without interruption to their subscriptions.

In the UK, existing monthly subscriptions will remain active as long as auto-renewal is enabled. Android users can also subscribe directly through the application.

The JioHotstar application is available across Connected TV and mobile devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The platform features personalized recommendations, multi-language dubbing, and subtitles across 12 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, and English.
