Moto X officially launched

After so many many rumours and leaks telling us what to expect and what not to, Motorola has made the much awaited Moto X official.

Google and Motorola finally launched the Moto X smartphone, which showcases Google’s most appreciated software’s. While the overall design of the device is close to the Nexus smartphones, Motorola has managed to add some of its own design features.

The Moto X has a 4.7 inch AMOLED display with a heavy resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display has a unique Active Display feature, which makes use of the AMOLED screen tech and lights up certain pixels of the panel in order to display various sorts of notifications and time. This feature would help save a lot of battery power.

The device is powered by the new Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System, which consists of a 1.7 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2 GB of RAM and a quad core Adreno 320 GPU. The system also has a dedicated natural language processor and a contextual computing processor to add to the additional features.

The Moto X has a 10 MP rear facing ClearPixel camera which would give better low-light shots and blur-free daylight shots. The camera supports 1080p video recording. The device also has a front facing 2 MP camera. The device has an amazing Quick Capture Camera feature which lets you start the camera quickly using gestures. Once you pick the phone up, you need to twist your wrist twice in order to launch the camera. To click a picture, you just need to touch the screen.

The Moto X will let you control the device using your voice only. The device would continuously listen for commands and is linked to Google Now. To issue a command you need to say, “OK, Google Now.” The device would let you customize the device with a rich set colours, which include 2 front colours, 18 back colours and 7 accent colours.
