Earlier this week, Chinese smartphone brand OPPO launched the OPPO R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition smartphones that come with 6.28-inch 19:9 display, 20 MP selfie camera, and an iPhone X-like notch. Well now, out of nowhere, OPPO has announced yet another smartphone called OPPO A1.
Well, the OPPO A1 looks similar to the OPPO A83 that was launched in China last December and was later brought to India in January. It has small bezels and features a 5.7-inch display with a now common 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720 pixels resolution.
The OPPO A1 comes in three colors – Red, Blue and White. The Red and Blue color variants seem to have a metal back or matte finish, whereas, the White color variant seemingly has a glass covered back. That said, the OPPO A1 doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, either on the front or at the back, which is a bummer.
That said, the OPPO A1 does come with Face Unlock feature that uses face recognition to unlock the smartphone. However, it’s needless to say that Face Unlock feature is imperfect, and often doesn’t work properly at night and in low-light conditions, which is why a fingerprint scanner is needed on a smartphone.
Anyways though, the OPPO A1 is powered by an unknown quad-core processor which is coupled with 4 GB RAM. The smartphone has 64 GB of internal storage, and, it ships with a 3180 mAh battery that keeps the light on.
Lastly, the photography department is handled by a 13 MP camera at the back along with an 8 MP snapper on the front.
