Positioned as an AI camera-centric smartphone lineup, the Reno16 series focuses on helping users shoot, edit, and share content more efficiently through a combination of upgraded camera hardware and AI-powered software features built into ColorOS 16. Alongside the smartphones, OPPO has also introduced OPPO Bubble, a magnetic smart camera companion designed to enhance photography and video recording.
Triple 50 MP Camera System
The OPPO Reno16 series features a versatile triple-camera setup designed for portraits, landscapes, selfies, and low-light photography.
The OPPO Reno16 includes:
- 50 MP Ultra-Clear main camera
- 50 MP ultra-wide camera
- 50 MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100° field of view
- Dual Flash system for improved low-light photography
The OPPO Reno16c also features a high-resolution camera system comprising:

50 MP Telephoto Portrait Camera
One of the biggest highlights of the Reno16 series is its 50 MP 3.5x telephoto portrait camera.
Equivalent to an 85 mm portrait lens, the telephoto camera is designed to capture natural-looking portraits with optical zoom, improved subject separation, and better background compression without sacrificing image quality.
4K HDR Video Across All Cameras
OPPO has standardized video recording across all primary rear cameras.
The ultra-wide, main, and telephoto cameras all support:
- 4K 60 fps HDR video recording
- 4K Auto Straighten for improved stabilization
- Zoom Free Video for smoother transitions while switching focal lengths during recording
AI Photography and Editing Features
The Reno16 series introduces several new AI-powered creative tools directly within the native camera and gallery applications. Key features include:
- Natural Tone Imaging for improved skin tone accuracy across different complexions
- AI Remix Collage for automatically creating collages using photos, videos, and Live Photos
- Pop Cam with nine camera styles including Basic, Digicam, Instant Film, Retro, Warm, Fresh, Rich, Airy, and Light Leak
- Popout 2.0 with improved subject detection for people, pets, landmarks, and everyday objects
- Dual-View Video 2.0 for simultaneous front and rear camera recording with customizable layouts
OPPO Bubble Smart Camera Companion
Alongside the Reno16 series, OPPO also introduced OPPO Bubble, a lightweight magnetic accessory designed for creators. The accessory features:
- 1.73-inch AMOLED display for real-time rear camera preview
- Bluetooth remote shutter with up to 10-meter wireless range
- 550 mAh battery
- IP54 dust and splash resistance
- Support for digital pets, photos, Live Photos, and short videos
OPPO says Bubble functions as both a remote camera shutter and an external preview display, making high-quality rear-camera selfies and hands-free content creation easier.
India’s First HoloVerse 3D Design
In earlier teasers, the biggest design highlight of the Reno16 Series is the new 3D Pop Planet Design, which debuts exclusively on the Starry White variant.
According to OPPO, the design uses its proprietary HoloVerse 3D Technology, creating a naked-eye 3D effect that makes a celestial planet appear to float beneath the smartphone’s surface. The visual effect changes dynamically based on viewing angle and lighting conditions, giving the phone a unique appearance from every perspective.
The effect is achieved through a dual-layer optical structure consisting of:
- Graphic layer
- Precision microlens array
- Tens of millions of lithographic microlenses
- Dynamic light manipulation technology
OPPO says the result is a floating stereoscopic effect that introduces a new level of depth and dimensionality to smartphone design.
Floating 3D Glitter and Dynamic Stellar Ring
Complementing the new design language are additional visual elements including:
- Floating 3D Glitter finish
- Dynamic Stellar Ring around the camera module
- Seamless one-piece cold-sculpted design
Together, these design elements aim to create a more premium and distinctive appearance while maintaining the Reno Series’ fashionable identity.
AI Snap Key Makes Reno Series Debut
Another major addition is the introduction of the new AI Snap Key, appearing on the Reno Series for the first time. The side-mounted shortcut key is designed to provide instant access to productivity and AI-powered features.
AI Snap Key Functions include:
- Single press: Save content to Mind Space
- Long press: Record voice notes
- Double press: Launch Mind Space
- Customizable shortcuts
Users can assign actions such as Camera, Flashlight, Translator, Voice recorder, and other frequently used functions.
AI Mind Pilot Brings Multiple AI Models Together
The AI Snap Key works alongside AI Mind Pilot and Mind Space, which bring multiple AI services into a unified experience. Supported AI platforms include Google Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT. OPPO says users can research topics, compare responses, organize information, and retrieve saved content more efficiently through the integrated AI workspace.
The Reno16 Series also focuses heavily on durability – protection features include IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. According to OPPO, the phones are protected against dust ingress, water splashes, water immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, high-pressure water jets, and high-temperature water exposure.
The devices also feature an Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Frame, which OPPO claims offers 200% higher yield strength and 36% better drop resistance compared to conventional plastic frames. Additional usability features include Splash Touch and Glove Touch. These technologies allow the display to remain responsive even when used with wet hands or gloves.
OPPO Reno16 Series 5G Availability
The OPPO Reno16 Series 5G will launch in India on 2nd July 2026. Following the launch, the smartphones will be available on the OPPO India online store, Amazon.in, Flipkart.com, and authorized offline retail stores.
