Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will launch the REDMI K90 Ultra in China on 30th June. Positioned as the next gaming-focused flagship in the K90 series, the smartphone succeeds last year’s REDMI K80 Ultra and brings several hardware upgrades aimed at gamers and performance enthusiasts. The company has already revealed key details about the design, cooling system, display, and performance capabilities ahead of the launch.
Premium Design With Aluminum Alloy Frame
The REDMI K90 Ultra will feature a premium metal construction with an aluminum alloy CNC frame and an anodized finish. Xiaomi has showcased the device in a Space Silver color option, highlighting a refined design language while maintaining the gaming-focused characteristics of the series.
According to the company, the smartphone will feature:
- Ultra-narrow bezels
- Large rounded corners
- Flat display design
- Improved in-hand comfort
- Premium metallic finish
While Xiaomi has not officially revealed the complete display specifications, the company confirmed the presence of a 6.83-inch flat display. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 12-bit color depth, 165 Hz refresh rate, and ultra-narrow bezels. The panel is expected to be similar to the display used on the REDMI K90 Max.
Active Cooling Fan Returns
One of the biggest highlights of the REDMI K90 Ultra is the inclusion of an active cooling fan, making it only the second REDMI smartphone to feature this technology. According to Xiaomi, the cooling system includes:
- Large active cooling fan
- 6% larger fan diameter compared to mainstream solutions
- Vortex airflow design
- Dustproof construction
- Waterproof construction
- Low 32 dB operating noise
The company claims the cooling system can reduce temperatures by up to 10°C within 100 seconds, helping maintain sustained gaming performance during extended sessions.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Power
Under the hood, the REDMI K90 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, built on a 3 nm process. Xiaomi says the smartphone is designed to handle demanding gaming workloads while maintaining stable frame rates and minimizing thermal throttling.
Gaming-Focused Features
The REDMI K90 Ultra inherits several gaming-focused technologies from the REDMI K90 Max. Confirmed features include:
- D2 dedicated gaming graphics chip
- E-sports touchscreen optimization
- Gaming audio enhancements
- Landscape network optimization
- Active cooling system
Xiaomi Claims Stable Performance Under Heavy Load
Xiaomi has shared several performance claims ahead of launch. According to the company:
- The phone maintained maximum frame rates for 60 minutes in demanding 3D games
- No performance throttling was observed during testing
- MOBA titles achieved 144 fps+ gameplay
- A 180-minute gaming test in a 30°C environment showed no frame drops or frequency reduction
The company says the combination of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and active cooling system allows the device to deliver consistent gaming performance even under prolonged workloads.
Xiaomi is expected to reveal additional information regarding camera specifications, battery capacity, charging technology, memory configurations, and pricing ahead of the official launch event on 30th June 2026.
