Great news coming for people who love listening to English songs. Saavn, the Online Music streaming service in India which lets users to listen to thousands of Hindi songs has today announced the launch of its newest product, Saavn English.
Yes, Saavn will now let its users to listen to more than quarter of a million English songs from various popular artists.
Saavn English is currently available on Web and brings music from artists including Jay-Z, Pitbull, Shakira, and Michael Jackson to Saavn.com, for Indian listeners. But the company has also announced its plans to launch Saavn English on mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and Java/J2ME (Feature phones).
Saavn English will bring in loads of songs from label partners Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group and the library will include new releases and catalog classics by Sony Music artists, including AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Pink Floyd, Usher, Bryan Adams, David Guetta & many more.
Popular international services like Spotify, Pandora and Rdio have not yet opened their services to the Indian listeners which is a setback as people are left with a few options when it comes to listening to English songs. But the launch of Saavn English marks the the genre’s arrival in legal music streaming in India.
