Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade starts rolling out in India

The wait is finally over! We knew that Samsung was planning to release the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for the Galaxy S III anytime this month and here it is.

The much-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for the Galaxy S III has started rolling out in the Indian subcontinent today.


The upgrade package weighs about 290 MB and users will be able to download the upgrade, both OTA (Over-the-Air) and via the Samsung Kies software.
 
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade is bringing in features like a redesigned notification shade, improved search, Google Now, buttery-smooth usage thanks to Project butter, Android Beam and more.

So if you own the Samsung Galaxy S III, do keep a watch on the notification to pop up or check for the upgrade manually. And if you haven’t received it yet, do not worry as roll out of the upgrade is gradual and you might receive it very soon.
