Samsung launches Galaxy Tab in India at Rs.38,000

Samsung_Galaxy_Tab-sSamsung has announced the launch of its first tablet device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab in India. The device will be available from November 10 and will be priced at Rs.38,000. Note, India is one of the first 3 markets in the world where the Samsung Galaxy tab is being launched.

The Galaxy Tab runs on Android 2.2 and is the larger version of Samsung’s Galaxy S, which has evoked a massive response worldwide. The Galaxy Tab boasts of an enviably small form factor at a thickness of 11.98mm and weighs just 385gms. The Tab sports an internal memory of 16 Gigabytes and a memory slot which can hold 16 Gigabytes more, ensuring enough storage space for the consumer. Samsung’s Social Hub integrates and consolidates all Social Networking Sites, E-mail and Contacts into one ‘superphonebook’ . The 4000mAH battery on the Tab is expected to give you 7 hours of Video playback straight or around 3 days of standby backup. Powered by a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor, connectivity options are endless on the Tab. There’s 3G HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-fi to ensure your online presence everywhere you go. The Galaxy supports Push mail, Internet tethering, Full HD Video playback and the accessory market is already up with Desktop docks, Keyboard docks, Car mounts, Diary cases and Pouches hitting the market along with the Tab.

The Indian Tab
More than 100,000 Android Market applications are accessible on the Galaxy Tab which offers consumers huge scope for customizing their Galaxy Tab as per their needs. In addition to the Android Market, Samsung is providing special customized Applications suitable for India on the Samsung App Store for the Galaxy Tab. Indian users of Galaxy tab can access 55 Indian newspapers in English and vernacular languages on their Galaxy tab. Plus, Samsung is providing a MapmyIndia navigation package free as an introductory offer along with the Galaxy tab. “For the first time, in keeping with the profile of this device, we are launching the Samsung Galaxy tab in select IT Channels along with the Samsung Smartphone Partner mobile channel. Leading Indian operators like Airtel , Aircel , Vodafone , Tata DOCOMO and RCom will be announcing very exciting offers and data plans with the Galaxy tab , when we commence sales of the Galaxy tab.” states Mr. Yadav.
