Sony Ericsson has announced that the Xperia Arc and the Acro (Japan only) will be receiving PlayStation certification. This means that these devices will be capable of running PlayStation games.

The only two devices to get such certification are the Xperia Play along with the Sony Tablet S.

The certification and the ability to run PlayStation games will be done through an upcoming software update which will be launched over NTT DOCOMO network in Japan first, followed by the rest of the world. With this, owners of the Xperia Arc will be able to play a few titles that are available for the Xperia Play.

Let’s hope that the update rolls out soon and Arc owners get a taste of some PlayStation gaming.
