Specs and Prices of Smartphones launched in March 2013

This March we saw some really frivolous activity in the smartphone industry. A lot of new smartphones were launched in this month. We have had the most awaited device of the year and even the fastest device launched in this month. We have compiled a list of all these smartphones.

Idea Zeal


The cheapest Android smartphone in the Idea range of devices, the Idea Zeal packs in a 1 GHz processor. Though it runs the old Gingerbread OS of Android, for a price point in the Rs. 5000 range it is considered worth. As usual, it comes bundled with Idea data packs.

Considered to be the entry point of XOLO in the quad core smartphone industry, the XOLO Q800 has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. Powered by the latest Android Jelly Bean OS, the smartphone has dual SIM capabilities. To attract music lovers, the phones packs in the YAMAHA 168 PA music system.

XOLO X1000


Launched a few hours before Samsung’s flagship device, the XOLO X1000 is touted to be the fastest smartphone. Powered by a 2 GHz Intel Atom processor, the device claims to provide super-fast rendering of graphics and runs applications smoothly. Even the battery life is supposed to be a plus point for the device.

Samsung Galaxy S4


The most awaited device of the year, the Galaxy S4 is Samsung’s flagship device. Said to be “A life companion for a richer, simpler life”, the device packs in a lot of unique features within the 4.99 inches. The smartphone introduced technologies like eye tracking, floating touch etc. The 13 megapixel rear shooter can’t be ignored.

Sony Xperia SP is known for its design which is derived from Sony NXT. The aluminium framed phone has a good 1.7 GHz processor which doesn’t disappoint. Also the 8 megapixel camera has the Exmor RS camera sensor for better photography.

The Micromax Bolt A51, falls a bit short when it comes to specs compared to other Android devices in that range. With an 832 MHz processor, the device has just 256 MB of RAM and can only run the old Android Gingerbread OS.

Claimed to be the new-age Android smartphone, the Karbonn Titanium S5 is a 5 incher powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. The Jelly Bean OS phone supports dual SIM. Also seen is an 8 megapixel rear camera.

Nokia Lumia 720


Nokia’s star at this year’s Mobile World Congress, the Lumia 720 is a Windows 8 Phone OS device with a dual core processor. The smartphone also has a 6.7 megapixel camera with a specialized Carl Zeiss lens for clearer photography.
