vivo India has launched the vivo T5, the latest addition to its performance-focused T-series smartphone portfolio. Positioned around performance, on-device AI, battery endurance, and display quality, the smartphone combines a slim curved design with a 7,050 mAh battery, 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo SoC, 6.83-inch 1.5K 144 Hz 3D curved AMOLED display, and a 50 MP Sony IMX882 OIS primary camera. It also comes with IP68 + IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H durability compliance. The vivo T5 is the direct successor to the last year’s vivo T4 5G.
The vivo T5 features a slim design with an aluminum horizontal camera housing and a narrow-frame edge finish. It measures 7.99 mm in thickness and weighs 199 grams. The smartphone is available in Royal Bronze and Silver Green, with the latter using an Aurora Liquid Crystal process for shifting color reflections.
The smartphone sports a 6.83-inch (17.35 cm) 3D Curved AMOLED display with 1.5K Resolution (2,800 x 1,260 pixels), 144 Hz refresh rate, 449 PPI pixel density, and a 93.82% screen-to-body ratio. The panel supports up to 2,000 nits HBM and HDR10+, while SGS certifications cover Low Blue Light, Low Flicker, and sunlight legibility. vivo also includes Eye Protection Mode, Sleep Comfort Mode, and Anti-Fatigue Brightness Adjustment.
Powering the smartphone is the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo SoC, an octa-core platform clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and paired with Mali-G615 MC2 Graphics. The SoC includes an 8th-generation GenAI-ready NPU for on-device AI processing, including running a 3-billion-parameter large language model at around 10 tokens per second. vivo claims an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 1.2 million. For sustained performance, the vivo T5 features a 3,800 mm² vapor chamber, a total heat dissipation area of 23,062 mm², and ten embedded temperature sensors for real-time thermal monitoring.
For photography, the smartphone features a 50 MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS, and Sony Aura Light. It is paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 115° field of view. A 32 MP front camera with an 84° field of view handles selfies. Both the front and rear camera systems support 4K video recording with OIS + EIS stabilization. Other camera features include multifocal portrait modes, Bokeh Flare, and AI Erase 2.0.
The vivo T5 packs a 7,050 mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge support. vivo says the battery can retain at least 80% effective capacity after up to 1,600 charge-discharge cycles. The phone can reach 44% charge in 30 minutes from an empty state. Battery Life Extender helps prioritize baseline connectivity at critical battery levels, while Global Bypass Charging supplies power directly to system components when operating above 20% battery level to reduce heat during active use.
The vivo T5 runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with three planned Android version upgrades and five years of security updates. Software features include vivo Office Kit for cross-device PC mirroring, Circle to Search 2.0, AI Transcript Assist, and private workspace partitions. The smartphone also supports symmetrical dual stereo speakers with vivo’s VEQ low-volume bass-enhancement algorithm.
Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Gandhi, Chief Business Officer – Online, vivo India, said, “The Series-T has always stood for powerful performance and dependable endurance, and with the vivo T5, we are building on that promise to reflect the evolving needs of today’s consumers. Consumers today do not want to choose between powerful performance and premium design, and the vivo T5 brings both together without compromise. Alongside strong performance, we have placed equal emphasis on premium design, versatile imaging and intelligent AI experiences, bringing together the elements that matter most to today’s user. Whether it is staying productive, creating content, capturing moments or simply enjoying everyday experiences, the vivo T5 is designed to deliver a seamless balance of capability, style and intelligence.”
