Xiaomi Mi Max 2 announced, comes with 6.4-inch screen and 5300 mAh battery

Xiaomi has unveiled its phablet Mi Max 2 in China at CNY 1,699 which is roughly ₹16,343 in India. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is the successor to the last year’s Mi Max. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 packs a mammoth size 5,300 mAH battery with a big phablet sized screen of 6.44-inch Full HD display.

The Mi Max 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage. There’s a prime variant too with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage which costs CNY 1,999 which is equivalent to ₹19,000 in India.

Xiaomi has put a new camera on the Mi Max 2. The smartphone equips a 12 MP f/2.2 camera from Sony (IMX386 Exmor RS sensor) that can record 4K videos at 30fps and slow motion 1080p videos at 120fps. The camera further uses a dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it is having a 5 MP f/2.0 camera. Xiaomi has also put stereo speakers which could be an improvement over the mono speakers.

To summarize the upgrades, the Mi Max 2 is conceived in a metal body with rounded edges, houses one of the biggest battery of 5,300 mAh capacity and a Sony camera that has been improved significantly. As for battery charging, the phone comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology ensuring 1 hour of charging will fill 68% of battery.

The Xiami Mi Max 2 is priced at CNY 1699 (~₹16,343) for 4 GB and 64 GB variant while there’s a prime variant of 6 GB and 128 GB variant priced at CNY 1,999 (~₹20,405). It goes on sale in China on 25th May i.e. today on Mi.com/cn
