Weeks after the Xiaomi Redmi 2A was introduced on the occasion of the company’s 5 year anniversary, the company has now officially launched the handset.
Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 2A, which is the affordable version of the Redmi 2. The device has a 4.7 inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core LCI L1860C processor along with 4G support, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2A has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the Android Lollipop version with a layer of the MiUI v6 on top of it. The handset is priced at just $80 and is available in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colour options.
