Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on GoogleYouTube Music is beginning to roll out labels that identify songs created primarily using generative AI. The labels will appear directly in the music player, helping listeners recognize when AI has played a significant role in creating a track. YouTube also plans to expand the labeling system to its main app.
The move follows YouTube’s earlier introduction of more visible AI disclosure labels for videos and Shorts, making it easier to find information about AI-related content on the platform.
YouTube Music Adds AI Labels to the Player
The new labels will appear on the YouTube Music player page when generative AI has played a significant role in creating a song, such as generating its composition and vocals. Listeners can tap a label to open a menu containing additional information about the music.
To identify eligible tracks, YouTube is working with music partners and using its own detection tools. The company will apply the same labeling principles already used across YouTube, extending its approach to AI transparency from video content to music.
AI Music Labels Coming to YouTube
YouTube has confirmed that the labels are rolling out on YouTube Music and will also expand to the main YouTube app. The feature is intended to make AI-related disclosures easier to find when people listen to music on the platform.
The company has not specified a completion date for the rollout. The labels are intended for tracks where generative AI played a significant role in their creation, rather than necessarily marking every song that uses AI in some capacity.
