Zoho has launched Zoho Classes 2.0, an AI-powered academic learning management system (LMS) built in India for educational institutions. The platform brings together teaching, learning, student lifecycle management, and institutional administration, along with AI-powered tools, multilingual capabilities, and institutional intelligence.
Zoho Classes 2.0 supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages, allowing institutions to deliver AI-generated course content, assessments, and learning resources in students’ preferred languages.
AI Course Builder For Teachers
One of the key additions is the AI Course Builder, which can generate a structured course from a syllabus, lesson plan, or topic in under 30 seconds.
The tool can automatically create video lesson outlines, reading materials, assignments with rubrics, and adaptive practice tests while mapping learning content to Course Outcomes (CO) and Programme Outcomes (PO).
Teachers can also schedule course releases, lock content until a specified time, enable in-video note-taking, and access more than 100,000 curriculum templates. The platform also supports flipped classroom models, allowing students to access and study learning materials before attending classes.
24/7 AI Tutor & Student Engagement Tools
For students, Zoho Classes 2.0 introduces a 24/7 AI Tutor designed to provide learning assistance whenever required.
The platform also includes microlearning modules, interactive activities, and gamified learning experiences aimed at improving student participation and engagement.
Student Lifecycle Management & Institutional Intelligence
Zoho Classes 2.0 includes student lifecycle management capabilities covering the journey from enrollment through course completion.
AI-powered tools can help institutions identify students who may require additional academic support, while institutional intelligence provides insights into student outcomes, engagement trends, and operational performance.
The platform also includes a Low-Code Micro App Builder, allowing educational institutions to create custom applications for admissions, lesson planning, syllabus management, and other academic workflows without requiring coding expertise.
Built For Indian Education Requirements
Zoho Classes 2.0 supports NAAC, NBA, UGC, and NMC accreditation requirements and aligns with key objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
For medical education, the platform supports Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) workflows aligned with National Medical Commission requirements, including competency tracking, clinical log management, OSPE, OSCE, assessments, and audit-ready documentation.
Zoho said it is also working with government education bodies on digital education initiatives covering out-of-school students, government polytechnic colleges, and large state education networks.
Built on Zoho’s technology stack, Classes 2.0 supports data residency in India and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
Existing Adoption
According to Zoho, the platform has already delivered more than 8 million notifications, supported over 1 million assignment submissions, enabled more than 100,000 minutes of learning content consumption, and hosted over 2 TB of teacher-created video content.
Zoho Classes is currently used by educational institutions including SRM Institute, Sishya School, Chettinad Health City, CGIHM, Vidya Mandir, Grace International School, and GSE Institute, along with government education bodies and other large-scale education initiatives.

Availability
Zoho Classes 2.0 is currently available in India, with a rollout to additional global markets planned over the coming months. Zoho said the international version will include regional capabilities tailored to local education requirements.
In India, the platform is available at no product licensing cost to all Central and State Government schools, colleges, and universities. Individual teachers with up to 100 students can also use Zoho Classes free of charge.
