Gingerbread, Android’s latest version [2.3] is currently available only on the Google Nexus S and is soon to hit the Google Nexus One, which was the first phone from Google, manufactured by HTC.

While every other Android phone is waiting for the update, guys at NitDroid sat up and ported the Gingerbread OS to the Nokia N900, which is known for its hacks and modding capabilities. The N900 has managed to run multiple Operating Systems including Mac OS X and Windows and here’s Gingerbread now to the list. The Nokia N900, designed to run the Maemo 5 Operating System seems to be the most powerful phone available today, indeed.
