KRAFTON India has officially announced “Kiaraa,” the first original in-game character IP created entirely in India by its in-house art team for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI).

Kiaraa is slated to arrive on October 8, 2026, as part of the BGMI 4.6 update. The character has been developed exclusively for the Indian player base and introduces an original origin story, a dedicated map location, and a themed collection.

While BGMI’s previous additions over the past five years have largely included licensed global franchises or established celebrity likenesses, KRAFTON began moving toward original characters with the introduction of Anamika in 2025. Kiaraa expands this approach as the first India-designed character in BGMI with a complete original narrative and dedicated gameplay integration.

BGMI 4.6 Update Kiaraa Original Character India

Kiaraa Narrative & Lore

According to KRAFTON’s official lore, Kiaraa’s presence on the Erangel map is connected to local mythology. Legends on the island suggest that she materializes during periods marked by greed, betrayal, and cowardice among the combatants.

Rather than seeking to control the battleground, Kiaraa’s story presents her as an arbiter who arrives to judge the players fighting on Erangel.

The Bazaar Arrives On Erangel

Kiaraa’s arrival also introduces “The Bazaar,” a new festive Point of Interest (POI) on Erangel. It is the second India-themed environment introduced in BGMI after the Stepwell was added in 2025.

The Bazaar features Diwali-themed festive decorations and is designed as a dense urban area where players can encounter tactical ambushes.

The location also serves as the arena for “Kiaraa’s Test,” a cooperative boss encounter. Players can trigger the event by landing in the central courtyard, locating four blue indicators, and activating the corresponding four peacock-shaped lamps.

Once summoned, a color-lit dome creates a designated Boss Fight Zone. Squads entering the area must face Kiaraa, who uses bow-based attacks and area-of-effect arrow barrages. Squads that defeat her receive high-tier in-game loot.

Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection & Festive Events

The character launch will be accompanied by the “Kiaraa Nakshatra Spin,” which introduces a themed cosmetic collection.

  • Kiaraa Nakshatra Set: Kiaraa’s signature cosmetic outfit
  • Divine Radiance SCAR-L: An upgradable firearm skin
  • Divine Peacock Glider: A specialized parachute/glider skin
  • Divine Chariot Buggy: A matching vehicle skin
  • Divine Edge Machete: A thematic melee weapon finish
  • Arrow Rain Emote: A custom victory action

The update will also introduce a Kiaraa Exchange Center, dedicated Arena mode challenges, and daily login reward tracks as part of the character’s in-game rollout.

First India-Specific Prize Path

Alongside Kiaraa, KRAFTON will launch the Diwali Prize Path, described as BGMI’s first seasonal progression track designed specifically for the Indian market.

The Prize Path will be active from October 22 through November 15 and will feature 20 reward tiers. The rewards will include seasonal cosmetics such as the Revel 01 Set and Diwali Gold Set.

Shyam Deshpande, Director – Art, KRAFTON India, said, “Anamika gave us a starting point last year. Kiaraa had to go further – a character who arrives with a place, a story, and a reason to be on the island. The peacock became her signature, and it runs through everything: the lamps in the Bazaar courtyard, the glider, the buggy, the detailing on the Nakshatra Set. The discipline was making each of those read as Indian craft while holding the finish our players expect from a top-tier collection like X-Suits and Gilt Sets. Getting her to feel like she had always belonged on Erangel was the hard part, and it is the standard we intend to hold ourselves to for everything we design here.”

Srinjoy Das, Director, Marketing and Product Management, KRAFTON India, said, “Indian players have shaped BGMI for five years, and Kiaraa is built for them. She arrives with an origin story, a Bazaar players can walk through, and a Boss Battle fought inside it – which means she lives in the game rather than appearing in a Spin. Everything around her is exclusive to players in India. The Aura Set is now India’s flagship collection, and we look forward to delighting our fans every year with our creations. Anamika showed us what an original Indian character could be; Kiaraa is what happens when we build a world around one. There is more to come this Diwali.”
