Gionee A1 OTA update brings Bokeh effect, more Indian languages
Gionee has focused its new lineup of A series smartphones for selfies lovers and teenagers by roping in Alia Bhatt as brand ambassador, and a tagline of Selfiestaan. The Gionee A1 launched under this series in April was a phone that embodied the company’s newfound focus on selfies. Now with an OTA update for the Gionee A1, the selfie experience is about to improve.
Gionee says the new OTA will provide a customized experience to enjoy music, videos and taking selfies for users. In photography, Bokeh effect simply focuses on the subject and blurs the background. The blur gives a pleasing feel to the selfie.
The update also comes with support for as many as 10 Indian languages like including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. This will be handy for Indian users as diverse language will not hinder people from buying the Gionee A1.Gionee also wants to make the A1 a more secure smartphone by offering a 3-year subscription of McAfee anti-virus. Previous updates have brought a new ‘Selfiestaan’ folder to the Gionee flagship where all selfies get stored automatically. Floating Youtube windows was also a featured in a recent update.
Prominent features of the Gionee A1 include the 4010 mAh large battery with Quick Charge as well as the 16MP selfie camera around which the Gionee A1 is focused. Not to mention the MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. You can take a look at our Gionee A1 review here if you want more details.
