MediaTek Genio 720 Powers Primebook 3 Max

The Primebook 3 Max is powered by the MediaTek Genio 720 octa-core processor, featuring two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0 GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 1.1 GHz.

The processor also includes an integrated NPU for supported on-device AI workloads. Primebook has paired it with 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM, an upgrade over the LPDDR4X memory used in the previous generation. The company claims the new hardware combination delivers up to 40% higher performance than its predecessor. The laptop comes with 128 GB UFS storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB.

15.6-inch Full HD Display | 12-Hour Battery Life

The Primebook 3 Max features a 15.6-inch IPS display with a Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). The panel has an anti-glare, matte anti-reflective finish and offers up to 250 nits of brightness. The laptop has a 60.3 Wh battery and supports 36W Type-C fast charging. Primebook claims up to 12 hours of battery life.

The laptop also has dual stereo speakers. The Primebook 3 Max features a backlit keyboard with three adjustable brightness levels and a touchpad supporting multi-finger gestures. For video calls and online meetings, the laptop includes a 5 MP webcam capable of recording up to 1440p video at 30 fps. It is accompanied by dual microphones with software-based noise cancellation.

The Primebook 3 Max supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. For wired connectivity, it includes a full-function USB 3.2 Type-C port supporting charging, OTG and display output through a Type-C to HDMI cable. The laptop also includes:

  • USB 3.2 Type-A
  • USB 2.0 Type-A
  • USB 2.0 Type-C
  • 3.5 mm stereo audio jack
  • MicroSD card slot

PrimeOffice Brings Desktop-Style Productivity Tools

One of the major software additions is PrimeOffice, Primebook’s productivity suite designed as an alternative to Microsoft Office for its PrimeOS platform.

Primebook says PrimeOffice provides more than 90% of the functionality required for working with documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The suite is free and offline-first and includes:

  • PrimeDocs
  • PrimeSheets
  • PrimePresent

PrimeOffice will initially be available on the Primebook 3 Max, with Primebook 2 users and the upcoming Primebook 3 Pro also set to receive access in the coming months.

PrimeOS Adds Linux Applications & Terminal

Primebook is also expanding PrimeOS beyond the Android application ecosystem by providing access to selected native Linux applications and a Linux terminal.

The company says the feature uses the same Linux kernel as the operating system. Supported applications include VS Code, GIMP, LibreOffice, Firefox, Arduino IDE, DBeaver CE, TablePlus and Postman.

This makes the Primebook 3 Max more suitable for users who need development and specialized software, including engineers and aspiring developers. Primebook also highlights the ability to use CLI-based tools such as Claude through the Linux environment.

For users who require Windows software, Primebook also offers PrimeX Cloud PC, which provides cloud-based access to desktop environments and applications.

PrimeSecurity & Task Manager

PrimeOS also includes new tools for managing system health and security.

PrimeSecurity can scan applications for dangerous or fake software and warn users when an app has a non-authentic developer signature. It can also block or terminate dangerous or resource-intensive applications running in the background.

The built-in Task Manager provides CPU and RAM monitoring and lets users manage startup applications. Primebook says the system can detect device-health issues and notify users with suggested actions.

PrimeAGNT Adds Operator AI

The Primebook 3 Max also introduces PrimeAGNT, described by the company as an operator AI designed to perform tasks on the user’s behalf.

The MediaTek Genio 720’s integrated NPU provides hardware support for compatible on-device AI workloads, while PrimeAGNT adds AI functionality at the software level. Primebook positions these features as part of its broader AI-ready computing experience.

Primebook 3 Max Features

Commenting on the launch, Chitranshu Mahant, Co-founder and CEO of Primebook, said, “The personal computer industry has spent years pursuing more power, but the more important question today is how efficiently that power is used. Not every task needs the same level of computing, and not every user should have to keep upgrading their hardware as their needs evolve. We see an opportunity to make personal computing more efficient by combining capable hardware with software that makes better use of the computing resources available. For us, the long-term opportunity is not simply to build more powerful computers, but to rethink how much computing capability users actually need to get more done.”

Commenting on the launch and the extended partnership, CK Wang, VP and General Manager, IOT BU, MediaTek, said, “Primebook shares our belief that powerful computing should be within reach of every user. With the MediaTek Genio 720, Primebook 3 brings on-device AI to an accessible laptop for the first time for many users. Built on 6nm process technology, its 8th-generation MediaTek NPU delivers up to 10 TOPS, enabling everything from speech recognition to on-device GenAI and leading LLMs, all while offering more performance per rupee. We’re proud to power Primebook 3 and look forward to supporting their vision of smarter, more accessible computing for India.”
