Let the rumors of the plethora of Galaxy S5 variants begin! Samsung recently started sending out invites to its Unpacked event on the first day of MWC 2014 where we expect the South Korean giant to announce the much awaited and extensively rumored Galaxy S5. And unlike last year, rumors hint that some Galaxy S5 variants like the Galaxy S5 Zoom and Active will be unveiled alongside the flagship, Galaxy S5.

Galaxy S5 Zoom and Active

Talking about the Galaxy S5 Zoom first, the device has surfaced in import logs from India. The device imported to India for testing has the model number SM-C115 “mobile camera” which makes us believe that it is the Galaxy S5 Zoom considering the Galaxy S4 Zoom had the model number SM-C101 or SM-C105. According to the rumors, the Galaxy S5 Zoom will come with a 4.8-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and will be released in May.

Now, coming to the Galaxy S5 Active, the report comes from a Korean publication, etnews which says the S5 Active will be a “premium waterproof, dustproof smartphone” similar to its predecessor, Galaxy S4 Active. There’s not much details on the specs but it should be mostly identical to the Galaxy S5.

If all these Galaxy S5 variants do show up at MWC, it is surely going to be an exciting proposition and we might even get to see a Galaxy S5 Mini. But we would suggest you to take these reports with a considerable amount of salt as Samsung would want its flagship, Galaxy S5 to gain all the attention rather than distracting people to its other variants.
