In late February this year, WhatsApp rolled out new Status feature to the app which is a clone of Snapchat Stories. While WhatsApp did introduce this new feature, it removed the old text based status feature in the process. This got WhatsApp a lot of bad press and criticism from the media as well as the users. However, WhatsApp did bring back the old text based status to the app on Android last week.
While WhatsApp has brought back the old text status to the app on Android, it has been renamed and is no longer called Status. Rather, the old text status is now called About. Yes, we know it sounds weird, but the good thing is that WhatsApp listened to the user feedback and brought back the text status to the app without much delay. If you don’t know how to set text status on WhatsApp post this update, by the time you are finished reading this tutorial, you will. Read on.
