Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Google
Just a couple of days back we saw Nokia UK tweet to a user that Symbian Belle will be coming to older device in early 2012. But now when we visit Nokia Store and select your Symbian^3 or Anna device to download any app, then we greeted with a pop-up as below.
As you can see in the screenshot above, Nokia Store asks us if our device runs on Symbian Anna or earlier and Symbian Belle. So what does this mean? Well it may be that Nokia is preparing to release the update for all older devices but is holding on because there may be some issues related to it. Also when I selected Symbian Belle for my E6, then all the apps disappeared and only 4 wallpapers were compatible with it. So does it mean that all the apps over Nokia Store will have to be worked around to be compatible with Symbian Belle? I even tried selecting Nokia N8 and E7 and with them most of the app was compatible but a few went missing.
So what can Nokia fans do about it? Well as for now, they can just pray (a little more seriously) that Nokia releases the update ‘very’ soon if not it’ll happen only in early 2012. Stay tuned.
