If you are one of the several Lumia 520 owners then we have good news for you. The Lumia 520 Lumia Black update is now live and is now rolling out gradually.
Nokia recently started rolling out the Lumia Black update for the Lumia 625 and now, the update is coming to most popular Windows Phone smartphone out there. As you all must be knowing by now, the Lumia Black update is the combination of Nokia’s updates with the latest Windows Phone GDR3 update.
The Windows Phone GDR3 update brings orientation lock, better multitasking where you can close apps from the multitasking interface, the new Driving mode and custom ringtones for individual contacts. Nokia brings the new Nokia Storyteller app and Lumia 520 already has the Nokia Camera app. Lumia 520 also gets the ‘double tap to wake’ feature with the Lumia Black update but there is neither glance screen for the device nor the new Nokia Beamer and Nokia Refocus apps as they are available only for 1 GB RAM devices as of now.
The Lumia 520 Lumia Black update is already available in India so if you own a Lumia 520, you might want to check for updates on your phone. Do tell us how you like the new update on your Lumia 520.
With the Lumia 1020, 925, 920, 820, 625 and now the 520 getting the update, only the Lumia 620 and 720 are left. The update should come first to the Lumia 720 as it’s listed as ‘coming soon’ and it should get the ‘double tap to wake’ feature as well and the Lumia Black update for the Lumia 620 is listed ‘waiting for approval’.
